Home for the Holidays part 2

When I walk into Jerri's antique store, it feels like coming home. Dry Creek Antiques in Cleveland Alabama is a place where I genuinely feel comfort and joy. It's not just getting a big hug from Jerri and taking a look at the latest eye candy in her store... I enjoy seeing other familiar faces when I visit.

You see, Jerri is the kind of person that draws people to her - I'm not the only one who stops by the shop. When I visit, I can count on seeing...

Terry, Jerri's husband...

or June, her sister in law...

or Mr. Charles, a retired Alabama Power employee who has a cool collection of STUFF that he sells in the parking lot of the shop...

or Mrs. Barbara, who is a dear friend to Jerri and helps her create the displays and vignettes...

or Don and Cecilia (aka Mr. and Mrs. Claus - bet you didn't know they live in Cleveland Alabama)...

or Linda, who has some mad sewing skills.

There is a sense of community, RIGHT there in one little antiques store (I swear, someone could write a book about it). I miss being a regular part of that community.

I wish that I could share a photo of all of the characters from Dry Creek Antiques, but unfortunately, I can't. But I will share some pictures of Jerri's Christmas decorations...

Beautiful, right?

Jerri generously donated several kits for me to make for my Etsy shop and Creatively Fighting Cancer. I managed to put four of them together last night and I hope (*fingers crossed) to add more to Etsy this week.

Pretty, no? Her support means the world to me. *Thank you Jerri!*

And thanks to YOU for visiting me today. Be blessed Y'all!

I like the alumimum? (silver) christmas tree. I also love to look around these stores. Often I find the good folks that work there more interesting than some of the beautiful antiques.

Recently I stopped at a flea market and one of the workers shared her entire life story with me...and let me tell you, it was a doozy! LOL!

That shop is awesome, boy would I like to shop there. Cute post. Years ago when I lived in a town called Western Springs in Illinois
I remember how wonderful it was to go into the drug store or cleaners and they knew who I was, called me by name.
