Don't be too hard on yourself. You are entitled to buy what you want to buy so long as you can afford it and you really need it. Sometimes we become guilty on things we should not be guilty of. I like to divide the cost today over time - If you believe your son will use that bedding for say 4 years (for easy math), then you really are only spending $10 a year for your son's bedding. That's guilt free if you ask me. Heck, at $40 it's guilt free in my book. That's a FAB deal!

Then, while he's still counting on his toes, have a few other bed in a bag prices that are MUCH more to throw at him.

Finally, pout a little and promise to thank him properly later that night.

Absolutely justified. Plus, by the time you bought the other pieces separately to match the comforter you already had, you'd have ended up spending more most likely!

Hey, was it the perfect colors? If so, then I say you were right to dive in an d buy it. lol Love the practice justification. I have to do that, too. If only we were independantly wealthy, huh?. Sounds like you got a great deal and just think of how long he will have this one and divide that into the total amount and you have more savings to share with your husband. :D. That's one of my secrets. shhhh... He does say, "stop saving me money", once in awhile but usually it works. GO ahead and use it if you like. Good luck!

ummmm, if you have that many reasons for buying it then, it wasn't REALLy an impulse buy was it? It was a well thought through impulse buy which is so much better. On the other hand, my husband (and family AND friends) are constantly helping me (I say helping...they're really telling me) remember the differences between "wants" and "needs". For me, if I'm clothed, fed, and my bills are paid, all of my needs are met ;-)
